Wondering the above? Was in a pub much busier than expected . Statistically someone there likely to have covid .. wonder how long the typical incubation period might be and when to besr test ...

The average is 5 days I believe

PerditaMacleod · 01/09/2021 21:17

DH tested positive 5 days after I did.

Porcupineintherough · 01/09/2021 21:38

5 days the second time. Can't be sure the first but I think 7.

SunbathingDragon · 01/09/2021 21:39

I think from three days is realistic now.

HummingBeeBox · 01/09/2021 21:42

A friends daughter passed Covid on to another girl who got symptoms 4 days after contact.

3-7 days I believe. Are you doing a test just because you were in a pub though?

Elverybaby · 01/09/2021 21:49

Typically 5 days but incubation period is 1-14 days or even longer in a few cases

Dandy008 · 01/09/2021 21:49

Are you doing a test because you were in a pub?
Will you do one every time you go?

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 01/09/2021 21:50

7 days for me if I caught it when I think I did (which is very likely)

Darkchocolateandcoffee · 01/09/2021 21:50

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 01/09/2021 21:51

What is the rate per 100000 in your area, I was talking about this with a friend and ilooking at the map a lot of England is around the 400 mark which makes the numbers easy as it's 1 person in 2500. If we understand it correctly unless you are at a pretty big place it's not likely at all that you'd catch covid in a pub. Is that right?

The rate per 100000 would have to be huge before there was even a chance of someone in the pub being positive wouldn't it? How many pubs have even 100 people in them?

What are your statistics that you've worked it out with?

Tiddleandplonk · 01/09/2021 22:11

There were well over 100 and there was mass hugging and dancing. Then i helped clear the glasses. It was literally packed . No were to sit and much shouting in ears . We live in a toursit area so rhe rates are hard to judge

Partner went to a stag do and started with symptoms 4 days later. One of his friends tested 2 days after the do. They were exposed after going to cinema (alone group) and bowling (crowded but covid protected).

Except your maths is off.... assuming 400 cases per 100,000 is not 1 in 2,500.... its 1 in 250

I had contact on the Monday and symptoms started on the Friday x

hobag82 · 01/09/2021 22:53

My son tested positive 10 days ago (out of isolation today) and both me and DH are still negative despite all living in the same small house with one bathroom. My son has had one dose of vaccine so far and my DH and are are double vaxxed so hoping we have got away with it!
