Experiences of covid after double vax and previous infection

I tested positive for covid in Jan and felt quite sick with it. I'm now double jabbed, but I have piled on weight this year.
I've just had the faintest positive lateral flow test and am awaiting PCR results, but I just wanted others experiences of this scenario? I don't know anyone who has already had it and two vaccines and now had it again! I must be very unlucky as I am quite careful and don't really go anywhere either!
No symptoms so far, was headed to an event this weekend and we that is why I was testing.

Sorry I can't help but I've been wondering about this too. The articles I've read say a symptomatic previous infection plus double vaccination gives the highest antibody levels (unsurprisingly).

I've not seen any statistics about infections of people in this category and I've not heard of anyone in real life catching it again after infection and a double dose.

I also had Covid in January and I'm now double vaccinated.

Are you part of the Zoe Covid symptom tracker? If not it would be worth you joining to log your history and symptoms. I imagine it's quite rare and you reporting symptoms could help them understand more about what happens in cases like yours.

I hope you recover very quickly and it stays mild for you.

Thanks - I am but often forget to log. I may log in today and do so. Luckily so far very little by way of symptoms, I am dreading a positive e result but hoping that the vax and the previous infection mean it will be mild!

Hopeful bump?

As far as I understand it, vaccines act as a booster to immunity from natural infection and overall protection in this scenario is possibly higher than from vaccines alone.

I would expect you to be very well protected from severe disease but I’m not an expert!

Thanks, I thought that too. So far no symptoms, I've done another LFT from the same batch as the positive test yesterday and it is still faintly positive, but a second from a different batch (and manufacturer) is again negative (same as yesterday!) so I'm very keen to see PCR results and whether it is a faulty batch or the one make isn't sensitive enough to covid specifically. My husband tested negative with them though

So just had my PCR test back and it's negative! Despite three positive LFT -I knew a negative result was unreliable but didn't know a positive one was too!

@zaffa I mean, it’s possible but as far as I know you’re very unlikely to get a false positive LF. It’s false negatives they’re known for.

Did you do the PCR yourself? Definitely got a good enough sample?

I thought the same! Yes under supervision, probably a better sample than for the LFT which was one of the new ones that just do the nose. The PCR test took a sample of both tonsils and a nostril for longer time. I've done a lot of both tests before and never had reason to doubt the results.
I will say that the other batch of LFT is consistently negative too, but I agree it is unlikely to have a false positive / I do wonder if other people will use this new brand and more cases like this will be picked up? Maybe it's too sensitive to over coronaviruses? (I've heard that is why some go positive after half an hour, when it's a void result)
