Starting to worry

Hi all i had my second pfzier vaccine 2 weeks ago and apart from a fever on the night of there was no immediate reaction.
Now for the past few days I've had what I can only describe as heart flutters or palpatations every few minutes. Now I'm starting to worry as I've looked it up and apparently inflammation of the heart can be a reaction.
For context i have a 5 month old who I'm breastfeeding so tired anyway but with my first born 3 years ago I was borderline hyperthyroid for a couple of years after his birth so at first thought it was this.
Sorry for the ramble I'm just panicking I will call the doctor tomorrow just wondering if anyone had similar?

To add I do have slight health anxiety so could be making it worse. Also I don't want to come across as scaremongering as this side effect is apparently really rare. I don't want to put people off having it

This will be your anxiety. It's not going to happen two weeks after a vax.

It's a well known thing that when people have their heart rate and blood pressure taken in hospital or a drs surgery that it's higher, just because they're in a medical setting and they assume something is wrong.

The same is happening here. It's most important for you to find ways to tackle your anxiety and relax and then your heart rate should calm down. Obviously if it doesn't ajd you're still worried see someone but it won't be the vaccine now.

My first thought is it's far more likely anxiety. Get it checked out for peace of mind if you want, that might also fix it if it is anxiety!

Preg19 · 15/08/2021 13:11

Your not you're

It will probably heighten anxiety getting it checked out as per my above post

Health anxiety or not, medical symptoms should not be dismissed as anxiety. It should be a diagnosis of exclusion where possible.
OP id speak to your GP. I had similar symptoms when BF, didn’t get checked for ages due to history or health anxiety. When I eventually had blood tests I was deficient in folate.

FeelingJittery1 · 15/08/2021 13:27

@Preg19 I’m not in the best place to give out advice due to family issues connected to Covid and my own health anxiety

But I just didn’t want to read snd run as I understand or recognise the worry/anxiety

Please don’t ask mumsnet for medical advice- the norm seems to be even if you are having a heart attack to take two paracetamol and wait

You have noticed something which made you write this post

It could be two things- your anxiety and I have flutters when I’m anxious

Or something else

The something else might be connected to the vaccine or may be not

It could be something which needs to be checked it maybe the doctor can diagnose it over the phone- hormonal issues etc

The best thing is to talk to a qualified health professional and get advice

Most probably it will be the anxiety driving it…hope that helps

Preg19 · 15/08/2021 14:50

Thankyou for all your comments. I know i have always been a bit of an anxious person especially since having kids so I will talk to the doctor about my concerns
Didyeaye- you are quite right thankyou for your comment I will talk to the doctor and see what they say

My Godson had this and he has heart inflammation from the vaccine. I think you should get checked out OP.

PurpleDaisies · 15/08/2021 14:56

No one should be telling you not to get this checked. It is almost certainly anxiety but you need (at least) a conversation with a real life medical professional to make sure.

Good luck Flowers

If you have econsult get the form filled in today. They can then see it first thing tomorrow morning. Or just give 111 a ring if you are really concerned now.

moregarlic · 15/08/2021 16:48

I can’t believe people are telling you it’s just anxiety and not to seek a medical opinion.

OP I am sure you will be fine, but given the nature of some of side effects associated with the vaccine I would urge you to have this investigated.

FeelingJittery1 · 16/08/2021 10:31

@Preg19 hope you spoke to a doctor?

blahblahblah321 · 16/08/2021 10:34

I have anxiety, it's a pig and definitely causes me to feel my heart fluttering.

However do please get it checked, there's lots of reasons why people get palpitations, if you've recently had a baby you could be anaemic?
