You were a contact of a contact? So if you lived with someone who has been around someone who has tested positive. LFT saying negative on everyone in the household so far and wedding is on Saturday.

Bearing in mind that as from Monday contacts no longer need to isolate, only those who are positive themselves.

Yes I would. I wouldn't let the one who has been in contact with a positive person go though. I'd maybe do a lft that morning just to be sure x

I was in this situation but it was birthday drinks. In my case, DH had been in close with someone that had tested positive but I’d had no contact with the person. We’ve both been vaccinated so I went to the drinks after checking in with the other attendees that they didn’t mind (none did). DH isolated as he was supposed to and never developed symptoms. I think the best thing to do would be to explain the situation to the couple and ask if they are still ok with you coming, maybe offer to rest again Friday just to be on the safe side.

I think you should at least check with the bride and groom - just in case they know of anyone who is attending who is particularly vulnerable for some reason.

Yes. Not the actual contact though and I’d be doing an LFT immediately before going.

Bride and groom are fine with it but suggested taking a LFT the day of the wedding which I planned to do anyway.

Contacts of contacts have never been required to isolate - and this won't change when the 16th aug change comes into effect.

Best approach for contacts of contacts is as for everyone. Twice weekly lateral flow tests, social distancing as much as poss, hand hygiene, fresh air and face coverings where advised (or indoors for prolonged periods in close contact with others)

Essentially, I'd go but be extra vigilant of symptoms and be stringent on hygiene. Hope you have fun!

If you havent been contacted by test and trace and test negative then yes go. You could always do a PCR to put mind at rest
