I’m very worried as the vaccinations aren’t stopping us from getting it. I think you can even get it again if you’ve already had it. I’m trying to lose weight, eat better, take vitamin d and zinc and do some regular exercise. I know I should have been doing this anyway but fear has helped me with kick up the backside. I don’t know if there’s anything else I can be doing to help.

I've been double vaxxed, I don't go to busy places, and I've been on prescription vitamin D for years anyway.
That's it.

RhonaRed · 07/08/2021 18:05

I'm eating more veg.😂

RhonaRed · 07/08/2021 18:09

I am resigned to getting it of course. But would like to ride it out as well as possible so I totally get your point of view op.
I should exercise regularly too but for now I'm eating salads. Which is unusual for me and the least I can do in the circs.

Wearing a mask in shops and other crowded indoor places

Neverrains · 07/08/2021 18:15

Nothing particular for Covid… I try and stay healthy to avoid poor outcomes from disease in general though. Always have.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 07/08/2021 18:26

Wearing a mask, keeping healthy through exercise and weight, vitamins and avoiding indoor spaces as much as possible.

Darbs76 · 07/08/2021 18:28

I lost 24lbs to get to ideal weight (lower end of ideal), increased exercise hugely and took high dose vitamin D. Just recovering from Covid and it was rough, but I guess could have been a lot worse

GoodMorrowFairMaiden · 07/08/2021 18:42

@Darbs76 well done on the weight loss. It’s true that we’ll never know if these things have made a huge difference or not.

Not going to busy places, trying to lose weight and eat healthy.

Elouera · 07/08/2021 18:55

I'm still wearing a mask indoors, not going shopping unless I need something I can't order, or for groceries and still wiping down all shopping.

RevolvingPivot · 07/08/2021 18:57

Had both vaccine and still wearing a mask that's it. I didn't wash my hands more than normal but that's because I kept forgetting.

whatswithtodaytoday · 07/08/2021 19:00

Wearing a mask, avoiding busy places and indoor dining/entertainment, taking vitamin D in winter months.

I think I'm finally in a headspace, now things seem a bit brighter, that I can face doing something about my weight and fitness levels. Until now I was just too anxious/depressed to be able to focus on what I needed to do.

Arcminute · 07/08/2021 19:01

I keep physically active and a healthy weight to minimise risks of many diseases, not just covid.

And to protect my mental health I enjoy cultural activities such as going to museums and art galleries as well as spending time with friends and family.

Suzi888 · 07/08/2021 19:02

Of course you can still get it Hmm.
However your lifestyle changes the very good for your health!

Badbadbunny · 07/08/2021 19:02

I used lockdown to do loads of exercise and lost a stone in weight, which has also reduced my blood pressure.

I'm still avoiding "busy" places, going shopping on weekday mornings, wearing masks in shops, etc.

Musication · 07/08/2021 19:05

Not in particular for covid, but I've always been a bit anxious about catching things partly because I'm a teacher and being stuck in a room with rotating groups of teenagers is a germy experience! To try not to catch things too often I stay a healthy weight, eat a lot of vegetables and fruit and wash my hands a lot. These days which I suppose is covid related, I wear a mask in busy indoor locations such as supermarkets. Otherwise I just get on with it knowing that I'll still catch something.

DaisyDozyDee · 07/08/2021 19:07

Ventilation should reduce both the probability of catching it and the viral load if you do get infected.

Katie517 · 07/08/2021 19:09

Not for covid, I have always eaten well, taken vitamins and done regular exercise as for me I feel like these things are not optional which a lot of people see them as they are the key to health. I take vitamin c and zinc and vitamin d daily as well as a multi vit. I never suffer with colds etc and if I do get ill I recover very quickly. I have also never been worried about covid but as far as I know I haven’t had it and have done everything available to me that has been open.
