Sorry if this has been explained and re-explained a million times.

Today DH got a strong LFT positive. (A colleague had tested positive at the start of the week) DH got a PCR soon after and result is likely tomorrow.

Our DD and I have no symptoms and both got negative LFT results.
We're all double vaccinated.

I've been all over the NHS inform pages (Scotland) and what applies today - Level 0 changes on Monday 9th Aug.
Close contacts who are double jagged and asymptomatic and have neg PCR tests will not need to Self-Isolate from Monday.
We can't see clearly if we need to set isolate as long as we satisfy that criteria.
Is "close contact" the same as "someone you live with"

TBH - we are happy to be cautious and stay home - but we have an energetic golden retriever and I'm worried we can't get her out.

Well the English guidance has separate sections on what to do if someone on your household tests positive, does the Scottish guidance not have that?
Yes you have to isolate.

Darbs76 · 06/08/2021 23:02

I thought the rules were even in the same house you don’t need to isolate (under new rules).

Bananacocks · 06/08/2021 23:10

If you are in the same household you have to isolate, it is pretty clear.

I just found this in a BBC article

Didn’t realise Scotland made the change before us. If you’re told to isolate before a rule change you have to continue isolating, at least in England.

Eatenpig · 07/08/2021 09:20

You can still take the dog out but totally keep your distance from anyone? Maybe go to a large park where you know no one.

ThanksMateThanksMate · 07/08/2021 09:41

@Eatenpig We are fortunate enough to live literally across the road from a huge country park where can walk and climb for miles without meeting another soul.

We'll maybe stick to the shorter, flat bits!

I wouldn't give it a second thought then.

@JanFebAnyMonth I was of the understanding that if you are self isolating when the new rules apply that your self isolation changes? Back in December DD was self isolating and when the rules changed from two weeks to ten days she got a text from track and trace (Scotland) saying her self isolation had been reduced.

DD had to have a pcr test today and if positive I understood that me and DH from Monday were out of self isolation- once we have had a negative pcr as we are both double jabbed

I definitely wouldn't isolate if I no longer had to following a rule change. Stuff that!

Rassy · 07/08/2021 12:53

@ThanksMateThanksMate Has your DH got his result back yet?

ThanksMateThanksMate · 07/08/2021 13:01

@Rassy Yes he got a confirmation text this morning and a call from the contact tracer to get close-contacts' details. (Swiftly followed by pings to me and DD)

He's happy as a pig in shit, tucked up in our bedroom, watching Game of Thrones dvds! I had the first of a few nights on the couch!

We're going to book PCRs for the 2 of us on Mon/Tues and if negative, we'll play it by ear.

Ironically yesterday before I knew anything was amiss, I met my pal in person for the first in months and we were thanking the stars at how we'd "come through" relatively unscathed.

I'm away to spray more things ...

I work for the nhs and close contact, t&t or the app pinging would require daily lfts for 10 days but still come into work unless positive

If my DH got covid though I couldn't go into work negative lateral flow or not

ThanksMateThanksMate · 07/08/2021 13:15

@Bakewellisntjustacake sake!

Similarly if our situation were reversed, he would be allowed to go to work (food production) on reg tests.
I've also just heard just now that my oldest friend is travelling home here for the first time in yrs from UAE (now amber) and I won't see her - she was going to do a surprise visit to me!!

Ach well ...

@ThanksMateThanksMate Fingers crossed your DH doesn't become unwell and you and your DD manage to avoid it.

DD woke up with a throat like sandpaper this morning. Tested negative on a LF but done a pcr test at 10am so fingers crossed it is negative and she just has a sore throat

ThanksMateThanksMate · 07/08/2021 19:15

@Rassy really hope all is ok. Will you be notified by text?
