DH and I (AZ double vaxxed) and DD(14) have all been ill in the past fortnight (so presumably Delta variant). It has been really mild for all of us.
It started with DH and DD sneezing a bit, which didn't seem particularly unusual until it became more regular. Bizarrely DD didn't get a +ve LFT until about 5 days after DH's (she and I had negative PCR's the day after DH's positive). I am now positive 7 days after DH.
DH had a rough first day, with a bit of a fever. Aside from the sneezing and runny nose he just felt really tired (so an early night did the trick). He was left with a husky voice and an occasional cough but has been happily working 8+ hours/day from home throughout including plenty of video calls with a fair amount of talking.
DD had more violent sneezing fits and a very sore throat for about 5 days. She had trouble sleeping/looked really tired for a couple of days. She's back to normal and miffed that she has had to cancel so much this school holidays.
I started with itchy eyes (usually a sign of a cold coming) and a sore throat which haven't really gone. The runny nose (think at least 10 tissues a day) soon followed by bouts of sneezing. I was still getting -ve LFTs for a further 2 days at this point. Then the headache came. It was very similar to the one I had after my flu jab and Covid vaccines. My ribs hurt a bit from the sneezing and I am not sure that I would particularly feel like going out and about, even if I could. I don't feel particulalry unwell, but I've been sick a couple of times (but that was probably my fault for spraying throat spray and then gagging). Paracetamol is keeping the edge off my headache.
Had I not been doing the Zoe study I really wouldn't have twigged that we had Covid. None of us have had a bad cough or loss of taste and smell (which is quite an achievement considering how many tissues we've got through!).
The thing that strikes me is how long it took for the disease to spread to all of us (we'd been away on holiday so were spending a lot of time together in close contact). We are in a couple of Covid study samples and it was a bit of a fluke we had to do lots of PCR and LFT tests in that fortnight.
I hope you all feel better soon - Covid clearly affects people in very different ways.
