New LFTs available: nose only, faster, easier!

Seeing as the govt isn’t publicising this I thought I would:
Now if you order a pack of tests online, you receive a new sort, in a box with green printing and lovely drawings of Covid ().

Pluses:
Nasal swab only
Softer swab, and thicker so can’t go that high up!
Less fiddly nozzle thingy
Only takes 15 mins to develop!

Minuses
You have to leave the swab standing in the liquid tube for a timed minute, not hard though.

Oh great. I got a new green box the other day, but haven't opened it up yet, I'm still using up the other ones. I have been doing nasal only as I cannot swab the right place in my mouth without gagging snd touching other parts of my mouth. I have just been doing nasal swabs and hoping they were high enough.

Oooh thanks Jan, I think this is what I did as part of a trial back in feb. Went to get a test and was asked to do this one as well, just edge of nose and a fat end.

I remember thinking it would be so much easier for kids.

Barely felt useful though, so used to scraping out my brains.

I think I've just used one of these, slight issue around the dye running but could've been a dodgy test.

So glad I don't have to do the tonsil swab though!!!

Yay, new ones have arrived!

God. I have no problem with the throat part but the nose thing makes me sneeze on the spot. I hope the keep the old blue one for people like me.

My new ones have arrived. I only ordered them yesterday.

The new nose swab might be less of a problem because it's softer and can't go up as far?

Sneezing's not a massive price to pay for checking you probably haven't got Covid though, is it?

Maybe they are preparing us for testing primary school kids in autumn

I’ve been moaning for ages that they haven’t created a nicer test! My children will be very happy!!

Are they just replacing the current ones when you order more?

@JanFebAnyMonth the dye ran quite significantly, but easy to make out that it's negative. They do look so much clearer than the other ones, 3 of mine had the same dye issue on everyone's in our house but other than that they're fine, much easier than the previous ones

You have to put 4 drops in and that’s quite a lot of liquid, isn’t it?

Don’t think they’ll ever test primary, U4T would explode....
