Hey quick question, I think I’m panicking and giving myself low oxygen symptoms as a result but can you have low oxygen without a cough with covid? Or is low oxygen really only something happens with coughing? I have no taste or smell and feel quite “poisoned” but not coughing, however I just perked up and did some small chores and immediately felt really week with a heavy chest and my lips feel funny. But you can’t have oxygen affected without coughing right? I’m wondering if I should ask our neighbours for an oxygen monitor Confused

You can definitely have low oxygen without coughing, op. Check your level and call 111 if necessary. If your lips are blue I would go straight to A&E.

Get a monitor, you can have low saturation without a cough.

Okay thanks everyone!

You can have low oxygen without a cough.

It would make sense to get a pulse oximeter. We got one from Argos when we tested positive. It was only about £20 and was very reassuring.

From my experience though it is possible to feel rubbish and completely exhausted/lightheaded and still have ok oxygen levels. With Covid for us it was our heart rates going crazy after any activity that affected how we felt.

A pulse oximeter would mean you know for sure and can keep an eye on things.

I hope you feel better soon and recover quickly.

Under 92 percent is a worry

Dogoodfeelgood · 30/07/2021 19:37

@Lindy2 thanks so much for your kind reassurance! Yes hopefully just feeling woozy and wonky but not actually low oxygen. Have ordered one off amazing (shudder) for delivery tomorrow just to be safe.

Hi OP, 94% and above is ideal but anything under 92% I would seek medical attention

Hopefully this helps for when it arrives. Hope you feel better soon
