If you were going abroad soon , would you send your kids to a holiday club before you go?

Just that really. We're flying abroad on 8 August but have children booked in to holiday club next week. I'm thinking about not sending them to avoid risk of exposure before we go. But both DH and I will be working from home so not much entertainment for them. On the other hand we have very low risk of exposure, so could in effect isolate before we go. Not sure if I'm being paranoid but I know someone who just had to cancel their holiday abroad after testing positive and someone else who has had to come back early from a UK holiday after one of their group tested positive.

Yep, we did that. We're off on holiday on Monday (hopefully) and decided to cancel our holiday club booking rather than risk it. He is having a playdate tomorrow though, so really hope that doesn't backfire!

My colleague’s two DC just got contact traced due to COVID in their summer club…..

Thanks @JesusInTheCabbageVan and @Lupinhere37. I've decided to cancel and deal with 2 bored children next week. Think it's safer than risking our holiday, we'd lose most of what we've paid.

I’d cancel. Too risky!

Depends on the club. We had a case on DC’s tennis camp this week but it wasn’t deemed necessary to send anyone else home as the kids are outside all day. I think a lot of sports camps are getting the same advice.

@Stokey I think if you can keep them at home then it would be safer bet.
I did the unthinkable (in the eyes of many) and kept DD at home for online learning in the last week of term, to avoid risk. So glad we did because many of her year group were actually identified as close contacts in the remaining week.
She’s had so many significant disappointments this past year or so that I just couldn’t face another one.

@Lupinhere37 I think you did the right thing. A friend had to cancel their trip last week as her son tested positive on the pre flight PCR. He had no symptoms and she's regrets not keeping him home.
It's a drama course so while they'll try and be outside, there are still bubbles. I'm not going to risk it. Thanks for the advice everyone.
