I thought whole years weren’t getting sent home anymore?!

My daughter’s (reception) school year has just been sent home from school due to a positive case in the bubble (of 60 kids plus staff). I thought this wasn’t happening from 19th July- that it was no longer necessary to send home the whole bubble, only the close contacts of the positive case, who would have to work with t&t to identify them? The school aren’t sending the bubble home due to staffing issues, it’s because of the positive case. I’m not questioning them, I’m just wondering, and I’m not sure if I’m actually supposed to isolate her?!

This government is a shitshow.

Well, yes, this could be said at any hour day or night at the moment. Absolutely sick of this absolute shower.

Please pretty please if you voted for Johnson could you pick one of the other parties next time, this really has got beyond a joke now.

We've sent the whole school home this week for remote learning. Cases got silly, so many isolating and not enough staff. But yup, schools are as COVID safe as ever.

our head has now reiterated that 'we won't be sending any bubbles home this week' and has sent us this graphic and said that 'close contacts are no longer classed as classmates'.

Seems to be at odds with what most people are saying. and we are in a very covidy area (north west). Perhaps round here there's an acknowledgment that sending kids home repeatedly is very detrimental for all concerned.

step one seems odd. Seems to suggest that first thing should be positive LFT.
Fairly sure that plenty of people test negative on an LFT but then positive on a PCR. Relying on LFT seems somewhat dodgy. I wonder where this came from.
