Take a test if you feel a bit groggy?

Fun game. You take a lateral flow if you have no symptoms. You can take a PCR if you gave a temperature, cough or loss of taste/smell.

What was your first /main symptom and would it be enough to trigger a test?

Mine - a slightly blocked bridge of my nose... Nothing else for 5 days

DS has Covid (day 4). His first symptom was a headache all day (lateral flow negative that morning). That evening he developed a cough. It became new and persisting very quickly. Lateral flow was positive that same evening and PCR positive the next day.

I’ve had a headache since Thursday. Chest feels a bit tight but lateral flow negative. Going to get a PCR tomorrow if still got a headache as I’ve never had a headache this long.

When I had what turned out to be tonsillitis I took a lateral flow when I started to feel like I was coming down with something. I figured that if I had covid it might show up and I could inform people I'd seen and get a PCR

We all recently tested, none of us had one of the 3 symptoms but we did have cold symptoms.

We didn’t bother with LFT, we just booked PCR tests.

All negative.

I’ve PCR tested today with a runny nose, sore throat, lots of sneezing and feeling tired and achey. A cough leftover from the last virus I had which I also PCR tested for and was negative but it’s still sticking around.

There are a LOT of reports (online and personally anecdotal) of symptoms of the delta variant being more “snotty” than “chesty”. So runny noses, sneezing, sore throats etc however the guidelines for the symptoms haven’t changed in over a year…but I think people are just taking it upon themselves now to test whenever they feel like they’re coming down with something!

Headache and achy body were mine, but that was back in January so not delta variant.

First, coughing more than normal (always have a bit of a cough this time of year). Then very itchy eyes. Then very high temperature followed by nasal/sinus symptoms.

My children have followed a similar pattern- their eyes look puffy and their throats sound swollen when talking (by the time the last one came down with it I could just tell by looking) and high temperature are the first signs.

My son had headache and nausea, then coughing the following evening. He was negative on the lateral flow that day but tested positive on pcr 2 days later.
He developed costochondritis at day 10.
I had a 2 day headache and tiredness, tested negative on 2 lateral flows, unclear result on pcr then negative result on pcr...despite having headache similar to my son. (Ive had first dose of pfizer). Lateral flows give lots of false negatives...and not reassuringly, i was informed that the pcr does too
