My dd (21) has tested positive on a lateral flow test. She is achy muscles and feeling run down.
Myself and ds (14) have no symptoms and tested negative in lateral flow.
We have all ordered the PCR test to come tomorrow.
My DD was due her vaccine today and mine was for tomorrow.
So frustrating as I have just started a new job and I'm also so scared I'm going to catch it, I have a ds who is 3 and need to be able to care for him as I have no help.
Does anyone have tips on managing not to catch it at home? Dd is holed up in her bedroom and I feel so sorry for her, she's doing her best to stay in there and rest

Fingers crossed for you, we are in a similar situation - DS did a lateral flow Sunday and tested same day, came back positive.
DH and I are negative atm, and doing LFT every day - he’s on chemo so can’t have it if they don’t stay neg.
DS has stayed in his room watching tv getting really bored, but coping ok. I take his food up and leave outside door, collect and wash up. He likes the ‘room service’ bit Grin
If you share a bathroom then DD needs to to take extra precautions and clean anything she touches afterwards.

My DH had it last October & none of us caught it (that we know of). Helpfully we have a spare room with en-suite which became the Covid Suite and I really didn’t go in any more than I had to, opened window & wore a mask - just didn’t want both to be ill at once! He came out rarely & I was vigilant about washing separately & thoroughly but not bagging up clothing etc. To be honest it was like horrible flu so he just stayed in bed. Miserable but doable. Good luck.

Keeping everything crossed for you. Dd had symptoms Wednesday and tested positive Thursday and 4 of us at home have managed to avoid it so far.

Things I did was open all windows esp dds room

Dettol of Antibac all door handles

Dettol/wipe after dd used the bathroom

Separate toothpaste tube for each person

Keep toothbrushes separate

Separate towels for each person

Hand sanitizer at the bottom of the stairs that people use on the way down and up

Quick food drops into dds room,

no closeness with anyone hahaha

My DH caught it and the rest of us didn’t. He stayed in our bedroom as it has a bathroom and I moved into the spare room. All windows open as much as possible. DH wore a face mask and did a lot of hand washing if he moved around the house. Teens stayed in their rooms, no change there. DH stayed out of any room anyone else was in.

My neighbour had it, the daughter caught it (no symptoms except tiredness but was doing LFT) son and husband didn't.

DH found out he has had it when he had a blood test before going into hosptal for a procedure. So he did not notice, we did not take any precautions and nobody else in the family got it (we had blood tests done to make sure).

My mum tested positive while I was staying there. Ended up isolating there while she was ill. No precautions taken. I didn’t get it 🤷🏻‍♀️

My husband tested positive on Saturday we confined him to one room. I tested negative then Monday felt terrible and tested positive. Whilst he was in room I had all windows/doors open cleaned house top to bottom changed all sheets and towels etc and still caught it

My dd17 tested positive last Sunday. Looking back I think she had it 5 days prior to this. I was driving her around everywhere, including to the test centre!!
She didn't really isolate in the house but does spend a lot of time in her room anyway.
The rest of us stayed home/off school but none of us (Dh and two sisters) caught it.
Bloody miracle tbh!!

Thanks for all your replies, we are in a 3 bed flat so there's not much room to keep apart but she is in her room and will stay there.
Think me as ds2 will spend most of our days out in the garden so we are not in the house breathing in any germs.
Feeling a bit iffy myself but don't know if that's my imagination going into overdrive.
Funny how some people catch it and yet others sleep in the same bed with someone and don't!
I also wonder if she has been infectious for a few days as she has been complaining of headaches and tiredness for a few days now so maybe already caught it
