Can someone please clarify isolation rules before I lose my mind?

I can't find a definitive answer to this so I'm hoping you can help!
DD tested positive and as a close contact I was sent a text from test and trace saying I needed to isolate until the 17th (which I knew anyway) Today DS has tested positive and my flipping covid app says I now need to isolate until the 22nd. Unfortunately the 2 different dates have come from 2 different sources (one from test and trace earlier in the week and the covid app today)and I don't know which one to abide by! Confused Please help! Nowhere seems to be very clear on whether self isolation extends for asymptomatic household members if another member if the house tests positive

Its 10 days from first exposure. You don't restart every time someone tests positive

It’s the 17th unless you start showing symptoms . There’s been at least three similar posts in the last two days.

You go by T&T not the app. The app doesn't know you are already isolating

Thank you for clarifying. That's what I thought but all my friends said otherwise Hmm

I understood the non symptom showing family could end issolation 10 days after the first positive case regardless of the symptoms in other families members.

Any family who do go on to test positive do have to continue isolating after their own result though.

You don't legally have to keep isolating but it would be sensible to take extra precautions.
