How to help DD

My DD (18) has been ill with COVID since Sunday. She has a sore, dry cough and her chest feels tight. She is complaining of an awful headache, muscle pain and she has a mouth full of mouth ulcers (fairly normal for her when she's run down but it's pretty bad this time)
I'm not worried about her medically per se as from what I hear these are pretty common COVID symptoms but the issue is that she's at the end of her tether as she's had very little sleep over the past 3 days.
I'm making sure she has plenty of fluids and paracetamol/ibuprofen as per directed dose. She's tried everything including whale music and counting sheep Smilebut she when she does drift off she's woken up within minutes because of the coughing.
I've tried getting her to sleep sitting up propped up with pillows but that's not making much difference.
Are there any tried and tested methods I'm not thinking of to help her get some rest?
I've ran her a warm bubble bath which she's in just now and was thinking of asking my brother to pick up some night nurse and drop it off.
Am assuming at some ping she'll fall asleep from pure exhaustion but it's hard seeing her so distressed.

Insomnia is a common symptom of COVID. It's a horrible combination - feeling ill and exhausted but unable to sleep, so much sympathy for your dd. Encourage her to rest as much as possible and to trust that the sleep will return in time.

I think lying on your front is recommended for COVID

Loads of warm fluids- chicken broth/soup, honey and lemon water etc

Eat boiled eggs.

Vicks on chest and feet, neck and back

Warm baths with radox muscle therapy

Saline drops in nose or even the spray

Loads of rest and drink loads of water throughout the day....

Antihistamines, ask at the chemist tomorrow, they’ll make her drowsy too. Hope she feels better soon Flowers

Please dont go down the route of sleeping tablets/nylon to make her sleepy though. They are not safe when you are in the active stages of coronavirus.

Nytol!

My doctor prescribed ventolin when I had a bad lung infection which I know isn’t the same but maybe worth asking. It certainly helped my breathing.
Our youngest is asthmatic and the GP advises to always up use of inhaler meds with any respiratory infections.

I find pholcodiene linctus the best cough suppressant.

Morning all,
She finally managed to dose off around 1am and slept till around 5.
I've got a humidifier arriving today and I have night nurse.
All being well our isolation ends tomorrow so I can pop to the pharmacy if need be.
Think she's feeling a lot better after having a bit of a sleep, although she's still feeling pretty dreadful.
Really appreciate everyone's help- was feeling so helpless last night when she was just so distressed- it's not like her, she's a pretty resilient kid but I think just days of feeling awful and no sleep took their toll.
