I have been wondering a few things about the new rules/freedom day/post august 16th.
Surely, if people are not really unwell, just maybe feeling a bit off colour, with say, a minor cough or temp, same for kids, do you think people are now LESS inclined to do a PCR test on themselves/their kids with end of term/holidays/lifting of restrictions etc?
After 16th August, they say kids under 18 and double vaccinated adults DON’T have to isolate if they are deemed a ‘close contact’ and are just ‘advised’ to take a PCR test. Do you think that means even if someone you live with tests positive, you won’t need to isolate?!
I see lots of discussion about ‘official’ calls from track and trace vs the app. But many people I know have openly said they wouldn’t give contact details of people they’d been in contact with to track and trace (not the app, the phone line) as they know they don’t want to isolate!
What about work? With so many businesses suffering, do you think employees will be discriminated against for taking a PCR test and subsequently not being able to work if positive?
Kids are still being sent home if a child in their ‘bubble’ tests positive, but many are ignoring the isolation rules anyway.
It all still feels like such a mess to be honest. Thoughts?
