2nd jab after only 7 weeks

I'm having my 2nd jab today and I only had my 1st one 7 weeks ago. I know they are trying to push through vaccinations as quick as possible but do you think this is too soon?

I’ve been told that they’re doing them at 4 weeks. A lady I know went to a pop up one and they were saying that they would do anyone 4 weeks and over.

Don't forget everyone else is having them three weeks apart. It was special UK policy to gamble on a twelve week wait and get as many first jabs done as possible - which seems to have paid off. But I don't think there's any worry in having them closer together. That's what was originally trialled and intended!

Is it pfizer? I think it’s supposed to be three weeks according to the manufacturer if so. As a PP said, most countries are still using the manufacturers guidelines.

I don't think 7 weeks would make a difference. Some people are going to some walk-ins to have it 4 weeks apart. I suppose the sooner you have the second jab , the sooner you'll need the booster though (if there is going to be one)

We won’t do under eight weeks at our GP clinic.

There is evidence coming through that the longer the interval the better the immune response. They are trialling even longer intervals. Personally I would leave it until at least 8 weeks.

Quite a few countries have now moved to the longer interval. The only reason it was set at 3 weeks primarily, was that was the trial, and they had to get going and release data asap. They didn't have time to wait 4 months, or 6 months. Generally vaccinations of all types work better with longer intervals.

Thanks everyone, that's put my mind at rest!
