If you're in England, obviously.

For me it's gigs. I've missed live music so much. I've already booked three and can't wait!

Also the spontaneity that's been missing from the past year and a half. I'm hoping the covid opening hours of a lot of places near me will be scrapped - the idea of nipping to our favourite bar for a drink or grabbing a bite to eat after one of those gigs sounds like something from another time and I get a bit emotional thinking it'll happen again soon Smile

The covid rules at my musculoskeletal clinic being done away with so I can finally get an appointment to see my consultant and get my meds sorted.

The toilet being open at the dentist!

Please don't chime in with negativity, there's plenty of other threads for that!

Will NHS dentists reopen at this point to normal routine stuff? (not just emergencies or yes we can see you if you pay private)

If so then that.

frozendaisy · 07/07/2021 10:03

Fantastic day trips on train with the kids over summer holidays until we can book a lovely overseas break with ALL the bells and ALL the whistles Smile

Faranth · 07/07/2021 10:04

I'm hoping that I won't have to book a slot to swim at the leisure centre.

I've got a chronic health condition that means I don't know if I'll be well enough to swim until the day/time, but at the moment I have to book a slot a few days in advance, and get fined if I cancel at short notice or don't show up. So I can't use my membership at the moment.

Seeing people relaxed & having fun. :)

Mine couldn't give me an appointment until late September because of the Covid backlog. But at least I'll be able to have a wee when I go. Hopefully!

My DC got a routine appointment, I think they are doing routine stuff? However, “because of Covid” we had to sit on the floor in a tiny hallway/ cupboard whilst we waited.. I hope they get rid of that on the 19th!!

Looking forward, as soon as I get a second vaccination, to not having to worry about getting a call from T&T and it ruining the next few weeks.

Children’s hands on sections of museums finally opening again. That’s my big one.

Catching Covid HmmConfused

MareofBeasttown · 07/07/2021 10:22

Am going to a play next week in a small theatre. Hoping to go to museums without booking. Meet GP in person.

Nappyvalley15 · 07/07/2021 10:25

No masks. Not having to book libraries museums, pubs, swimming, etc in advance.

zoemum2006 · 07/07/2021 10:40

Dd is in year 6 and the idea that her leavers prom can happen (on the 21st).

They have missed out on so much, it’s nice that they can properly finish primary school.

bookworm14 · 07/07/2021 11:01

Choral singing! And not having to live in constant fear that my child will miss out on education because someone else in her class has tested positive.

TheVampiresWife · 07/07/2021 11:11

It's lovely reading all the stuff DC are looking forward to. I don't have young/school age DC myself but DD 24 is looking forward to starting her teacher training in September and being able to do actual placements in schools - last year's cohort didn't get to and had to do everything online. Also she's looking forward to being able to get another p/t hospitality job, she lost hers at the start of the first lockdown and hasn't been able to find anything since.

Children/young people have had such a shit time of it, I really hope this is a turning point for them!

The main thing for me will be not having to book leisure facilities.
I am happy for my DC to be able to go to live music venues.
I belong to a group of women who all used to have breast cancer. We used to have a big meet up every couple of months and the last one was Feb 2020. It will be lovely to get back.

OP my neice has done her teacher traing this year, all in school apart from when they were closed. Even then she was able to go in and help with key worker children. This was secondary though. Primary might be different.

ferretface · 07/07/2021 12:28

Parkrun, running races, the London Marathon, gigs, theatre and festivals :)

LucilleTheVampireBat · 07/07/2021 12:29

Live music. I cannot wait to be jammed into a packed pub, 2 deep at the bar, having to double up on drinks because the queue is so big, sat relaxing and listening to someone singing and playing the guitar.

KylieKoKo · 07/07/2021 12:36

Festivals, being able to go for an impromptu drink with a large group and getting rid the spots wearing a mask gives me.

And most of all seeing my 90 year old granny who lives in another country.

@Suranjeep I don' think I have ever heard of anyone looking forward to going to the dentist Grin
DdraigGoch · 07/07/2021 12:39

Being able to do my job properly again without the union putting covid-related red tape in the way.

Being able to jump on a Eurostar and spend a couple of weeks abroad.

Everyone else going on annual leave so that the rest of us can get some overtime.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/07/2021 12:41

I'm hoping my Cubs can camp next term!
And the local zoo will allow members to go without prebooking.
And the watersports club can increase group numbers.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 07/07/2021 12:46

Gigs, standing at the bar, being able to go on a night out that’s spontaneous and not planned to within an inch of its life, meeting all the girls for dinner out instead of just 6, not having to book the gym and swimming, no masks…..and the big one - being able to wear BRIGHT RED LIPSTICK!!

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 07/07/2021 12:47

Great idea for a thread op - the other ones on this board are getting a bit bat shit Wink

towers14 · 07/07/2021 12:50

Not wearing a mask- obvs. Walk around the pub freely and talk to other people without being told by the landlord to sit down. Hope table service stays though, bloody love not having to go to the bar.

herecomesthsun · 07/07/2021 12:51

School being over so I don't have to worry about my clinically vulnerable kid getting covid for a few weeks.
