Countries that have implemented ventilation systems in schools

If you live in a country where they have implemented ventilation systems in schools as a covid mitigation risk, has it made much of a difference? I'm in UK, where schools are massively impacted by covid. Masks were worn in secondary for a while, but have since been stopped, masks not worn in primary. Classes are about 30.

@helpfulperson

I'm interested. Those of you wearing N95 or FFP masks are you wearing the ones with valves where your potentially covid contaminated breath goes over others. This doesn't matter if everyone is wearing them as they are protected by their own mask but otherwise you are only protecting yourself, not others.
Funnily enough after 16 months of wearing masks, yes, aware of that, ta.

I'm in France too. A few class closures in my son's primary school (we are in a massive hotspot) but the majority of classes have been open all year.

True op, maybe they dont like a draft! People seem terrified of a breeze or draft and take being cold very hard.

'maybe they don't like a draft'. Hmm I guess you don't work in a school. We've spent the winter months with gloves and coats on in class and so did the teenagers in secondary schools. We were cold all the bloody time.

A 'draft' as you say is only available when the air is moving about. When it's a hot summer's day you can have all the windows and doors open it won't change or purify the air inside. What schools need are air purifiers and efficient ventilation systems in every classroom.

And many classrooms don't have windows or windows that don't open (or only slightly, for safety reasons). Classrooms on upper floors, classrooms where there are lots of valuable computers/musical instruments etc. We can't use the theatre or some of the drama rooms because there are no windows. We have courses in design and media where we have fancy computers but no windows at all so the pupils can't even use those rooms.

Ffp2 masks have been mandatory here since last summer in all locations including schools. As from July 1st we can now wear fabric type or regular masks in places like supermarkets.
Schools remained open mostly throughout, ventilation has been added in local school in communal areas ie hall where larger gatherings
Schools just finished for summer, I’m not sure what the rules will be re masks on return in September

In Spain, schools were ventilated and masks on the over 6s. They tried bubbles at the start of the year but couldn’t keep it up very well. It has been successful in the schools never had to close. Teachers vaccinated early on. Secondary pupils will be vaccinated by September and I hope the masks are gone by then in primary. End of term is at the end of June so we were quite lucky in that the kids had broken up before delta arrived!
