Anyone else spent most of the last month in isolation due to kids being sent home?

Sorry, I’m sure many are in the same position and I know many are pretty fed up. Dd1 spent the last 9 days in isolations, went back to school Friday, now tonight I get a message saying that dd2 has to isolate (possible 8 days). Dd2 has SN’s so I will have to isolate with her, I had already cancelled Hospital appointments for dd1 last week and now I will have to cancel again (dd1 is waiting for surgery which is already delayed due to covid). I am a single parent so I will be stuck in all week with a child that needs a high level of care. I’m just totally fed up with it now, dd1 has isolated twice and this is the 3rd time dd2 has had to isolate.

Anyone else seem to constantly have one or all of their kids isolating?

My kids are back in school now (touch wood it stays that way!) but we’ve had 2 periods of isolating in the last 6 weeks so I feel your pain! And because of their age (primary) that means me staying home too so I’ve done twice as much isolating as each of them. So done with it now!

Yep. I have had to cancel all the meet ups i had planned with friends and family this last couple of months. I Have had to cancel my smear twice and dentist. I have given up planning stuff now. I haven’t even been in a pub since last summer. Life’s so boring. I see everyone else out and about and i am stuck at home with the kids. I hope they at least reduce isolation to 7 days instead of 10.

We are currently isolating and I will not be sending my DC back to school before the holidays due to the risk of isolating again. Cases are rife, parents are not testing because they'd rather not deal with isolating or their kids missing out and keep sending kids in with 'just a summer cold' 'just hayfever'. The result is mugs like us that do test end up with 10 days of stress and disruption. No thank you I'm done.

Yeah I have come to the conclusion that I am a mug for following the rules when no other fucker is

Thats awful. Kids have bore the brunt of government mistakes.

It sucks doesn’t it? We haven’t eaten out, I haven’t seen friends, haven’t planned anything and haven’t been to a pub since before lockdown. Kids are testing twice a week,I’m testing too. Seems many are no longer testing but I kind of understand why. I thought testing was to reduce those having to isolate? At the moment half of the school seems to be off. I am very tempted not to sent them both back for the last week and a bit.
