DH tested positive on LFT last Wednesday after feeling ill, PCR next day which confirmed. I took a test Wednesday too (after his positive) but was negative. Not feeling great today so took a LFT & its positive. When do you think we need isolate until? Friday as thats the date given to DH by person who called him after his PCR? Or 10 days from today (my positive)?

DH needs to isolate for 10 days from his symptoms starting and you for 10 days from your symptoms starting. Any other household members need to isolate for 10 days from your DH's symptoms unless they test positive in which case they need to isolate for 10 days from positive test if asymptomatic or 10 days from symptoms if symptomatic.

I would have agreed with previous poster previously but we've received different advice this week.

Partner's symptoms started last Saturday, tested positive on Monday, so was advised to isolate 10 days from Saturday as was myself and our child. Myself and our child started with symptoms on Monday and tested positive on Wednesday, we have to isolate 10 days from Monday.
But my partner has received an email from track and trace that he now has to isolate 10 days from Monday when mine and our sons symptoms started.

Ok thanks, so the whole household has to isolate from the most recent diagnosis. I.e., DH cannot stop isolating at the end of his isolation period?

Puppydogg1 that is odd advice from T&T. If his isolation had ended before you were symptomatic I think that would be correct but otherwise people who test positive could be isolating for weeks potentially? I don't think the official advice has changed. I would query it.

Puppydogg1 · 04/07/2021 21:18

@sproutsandparsnips that's exactly what we thought!
I questioned the man who called me from track and trace after my partner received the email and he said the email was correct and he had to stay in until 10 days after our symptoms.
My partners also been told this when he's been called by them as well.

Potentially if you had a large family you could be isolating for weeks on end which doesn't seem right, but who knows?!

Not entirely confident they are correct as they called me to go through my sons details and after taking his DOB asked if he could go through his whereabouts with them, not really he's 10 months old Confused and could he have been anywhere else that we are unaware of hahaha

@Puppydogg1 Tracking and tracing a 10 month old is priceless Grin

You can see why people are saying they are not testing regardless if they risk being in a lengthy cycle isolating particularly if they have had the vaccines.
