My father transported his brother to hospital on Thursday with non Covid symptoms . Approx 50 minute car journey and 4 times he had to help him in and out of car so was physically close. At hospital his brother tested positive and was discharged later that day. Neither have been contacted. My dad has been very careful all the way through as my mother is frail. My uncle is a different matter altogether. My dad has isolated and rang 119 who told him to socially distance and good hand hygiene. I thought he would be told officially to isolate ? Thanks

They rang me within a few hours of dd's test result. I missed the call and they rang back 5 hours later.
Not sure if it's different for hospital tests though.

I'm guessing your uncle didn't give your dad's information as a close contact. My sister tested positive back in December and didn't give my details to test & trace as she was worried I'd be annoyed about work haha. I didn't get a call (I still isolated though as if I had had a call).

I don’t think thru have contacted my uncle. But he’s not the most reliable. He has long standing alcohol problems. I was wondering if I should report to someone as my dad thought he was being collected by family but it came to our attention he’d caught a public bus home ( unbelievable I know)

There's not much they'd do if I'm honest. They should've contacted him to see who his close contacts were and where he had been. My sister had been tesco the day before getting a test and they didn't seem to care about that information (or there's nothing they could really do).

Also your dad is doing the right thing by isolating. Unfortunately there's not much you can do about your uncle Flowers.
