Positive Test post vaccine, how are you feeling?

I am mid 40s, have had both AZ vaccines and tested positive on Tuesday.

I have been wfh since last Feb and not really going out apart from food shopping. DH has been going out for work and he appears to have caught it and passed on, all 4 of us now have it.

Started feeling really bad Tuesday night and have not got any better, with the exception of the fuzzy head not feeling quite so fuzzy this morning. I still have headache, aching body, sneezing, coughing and a skin crawling feeling. This morning my legs feel like they could give way.

If you've tested positive after the vaccine what day are you on (since positive test) and how are you feeling?

Hoping that this will pass soon.

Oh @Olivess sorry to hear that. Dose yourself up and rest. Hope your DH can take the kids so you get some peace. Wishing you better.

@IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble - Logically I think it’s probably 1/365 people who get a positive result get it on their birthday? No statistician, though.

Olivess · 03/07/2021 09:30

I tested on my birthday and got the result the next day - does that count?

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 03/07/2021 09:34

@Olivess yes it does, that is rubbish!

@PuzzledObserver shows just how fuzzy my head is that I actually hadn't thought about it logically Grin

We had several negative lateral tests each over a few days. The ‘proper’ ones came back positive for all 3 of us by the way. If you have symptoms, a proper test is definitely best. Both me and DH double vaccinated. DS not but just under the age.

My partner and I (early 30s, both double jabbed since April as both frontline workers) are currently isolating as he has tested positive. He had AZ, I had Pfizer. If it wasn't for knowing there was a case at a wedding we went to last week he wouldn't have even thought to test as his symptoms are basically a very mild cold. He suffers from hayfever quite badly each year, so we really didn't give a stuffy nose a second thought.

So far I have zero symptoms and negative LFTs every other day. We have been staying in separate bedrooms and living completely separately since his positive LFT.

Very annoyed at the wedding party for knowing there were positive cases but didn't say anything as 'didn't want to panic people'. We only made the covid link when he saw another usher was isolating on Facebook! Very irresponsible of them, as we'd have preferred to know and we could have started 10 days sooner and at least guests would have been informed and made their own decision about doing LFTs and being mindful for symptom spotting.

Got to admit we were pretty lapse, both double jabbed, both worked through the whole thing since March 20 with multiple home visits, very limited PPE and never caught it. Got it at the last hurdle at an entirely outdoor wedding!!

I tested positive last Sunday 10 days after my second vaccine. Felt a bit off but no classic symptoms and only did a lateral flow as I was due to go to the cinema. Positive PCR. Felt pretty awful Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and started to feel a bit better yesterday although the symptoms seems to come in waves.

DH and DD1 got symptoms Tuesday night and tested positive on Wed. DH’s symptoms v similar to mine apart from not losing his taste/smell. DD1 (primary age) feels a bit sick but that’s it. DD2 bouncing around.

I’m amazed that nothing official is being said about the symptoms of the new variant being more like a cold/hayfever.

PuzzledObserver · 03/07/2021 15:35

@Louise241989 that is rubbish on several fronts.

One is that whoever tested positive should have told T&T where they had been and that should have triggered an alert (not an instruction to isolate, just a "you've been in the same place as someone who later tested positive, here's what to look out for") to anyone who was at the venue. It's now a legal requirement for each individual to either use the NHS app to check in or provide contact details at entertainment venues.

The second thing is that the person who tested positive thought "not panicking people" took precedence over "telling people so they can take steps to help minimise the spread."

And the third is that you caught it at an outdoor event. Delta does appear to spread far more out of doors than other variants we have known and hated, which is very concerning.

The other thing is that Delta does appear to have a different mix of symptoms, especially in those who have been vaccinated. And the Government really should be updating their publicity to say that, rather than relying on those of us who follow Dr John Cambpbell and/or the Zoe app to know about it.

Tested positive today and only thought about testing as my sister mentioned that it has similar symptoms to a cold. I just have an extremely itchy nose and eyes a bit itchy like you would with hay fever. Then a cough a couple of times a day but definitely not persistent.

Then today I couldn’t smell! Which is the weirdest sensation. But know i could yesterday.

Does anyone else have overwhelming guilt/-anxiety about the potential of infecting people? I mean it’s not like I was to know I had it and there is only 2 places I could have got it, one being the office which I haven’t been in since weds.

My partner is testing negative so far and both have had 1 vaccine.
