If you’ve had covid in the last few months is it possible to infect someone else, if you’ve been in contact with someone who has it?

My son tested positive & 65 people had to self isolate, his class, his karate class & we had family round for a bbq so they had to isolate too. & I'm the only 1 who caught it from him, my husband (who I shared a bed with) & my toddler didn't get it either.

65 people! 😮 we didn’t catch it from my son either. He was the only one in the family to have it. Now he wants to go back and forth between our house and his new house share which is ten other students
I’m wondering if he’d be able to pass it on if one of those have it. I know half of them went to Wembley Tuesday night and they’re all going out most nights. Meanwhile I’m still a bit more nervous and try to be as careful as possible

Are you saying that your son has already had it & you want fi know if he could get it again & pass it on? I mean I'm no scientist but I would say it's highly unlikely that he will get it anytime soon. I suppose he could carry it on his hands etc. I would let me him do as he pleases & im sure you'll all be fine

Also I'm very careful & still caught it I couldn't actually believe it after all this time.

Realitea · 01/07/2021 20:15

Thanks Roch, yes I think it’s very unlikely too. I’ll let him do as he pleases. I think I’ll get it at some point either through work or dc’s at school. Hopefully my two jabs will work their magic when it’s my turn! I hope you didn’t suffer too badly with it

We had the original (less-infectious) variant in sept 2020. Our son was exposed to it (without us knowing) and brought it home to us. Son was asymptomatic and was in school for 4 days before we realised there was infection. Nobody else in his class caught it from him....
