Taking kids out of school to avoid isolation?

Our two DDs have had 3 periods of 10 days isolating due to close contact at primary school over the past year. We’ve just started one right now and the previous two were near the end of winter term and spring term.
They also have a trip away with their grandparents booked in the summer- it starts just 4 days after the end of term and will be third time lucky if they actually go because it has been cancelled and rearranged twice from last year.
I will be absolutely gutted if they have to isolate for 10 days near the end of summer term and it f**cks up their chance of going away again.
So, I’m seriously considering not sending them to school for the last week of term. Keep them at home and safe from the threat of bubble breaks.
What are people’s thoughts? We never normally take them out of school for holidays etc- they have pretty much 100% attendance records.

I dont know about other schools but there is precious little education going on for students self isolating in ours. No on line lessons, it's back to "educate yourself with these teacher's notes". Nothing like the online teaching that happened in the last lockdown.

Same here @BarbarianMum.
Last self- isolation, it was like the school had forgotten my daughter exists.

My friend has refused to send her dc back after repeated short stints in school resulting in isolations. School have been v understanding and provided online learning.

From the 19th won’t it be daily testing anyway so not isolating?

I'm taking ds out the last week because we have a holiday booked the first week. He also has 2 dental appointments the last week, on the Tuesday and the Friday and really needs this treatment to save 4 teeth that came through without enamel. So that's the reason I'm giving, if he starts the treatment on the Tuesday he needs to go back the Friday to have it completed.

Removed 1 of mine this week as we away next week..
Already have 1 at home home learning asvhos class have isolate 2md time a in a month I dide t send him back the day they were meant to return so he's home learning but doesn't have self isolate.
Child 2 best mats has covid so 10 day self isolating ,phe shut her year group down as multiple cases and they break up this week.
The one I took out heads been fairly supportive and says she understands my reasons and will provide so online work this week even though they not meant to and the other year 6 class's are at home self isolating anyways
I don't think she's missing much there's been no sats and she's starts secondary sept I expect year 7 be spent filling any gaps and repeating some ks2 stuff.

You won’t be the only one, lots of people did this is Scotland. We didn’t even though we went away the day after school finished, it did make me nervous but we hadn’t had a case in school yet this time.
