Dh work trip a pit of Covid - when are we safe?

My dh went on a work trip 7 days ago. The last few days 4 people who were on it have tested positive for Covid.

Dh is double vaccinated because of an autoimmune condition I have only had 1 vaccination so far.

How long will it be before he can assume he doesn’t have it?

Is he supposed to isolate ? - he hasn’t been contacted by test and trace.

Will they vaccinations help prevent him passing it on to me?

I haven’t been massively anxious about getting Covid but I did get sepsis a couple of years ago with a simple case of flu and again with tonsilitis and it’s in the back of my mind that I don’t seem to deal well with infection!

Don't know exactly without looking it up, but I'd be keeping my distance from him if I was in your shoes! Going by posts on other threads, track and trace is a bit hit and miss. Your DH was with them he should have been notified, but he KNOWS if he has been in contact with them, so he shouldn't be waiting for somebody else to tell him.

But yes the vaccinations will definitely help. Is he doing lateral flow tests? He should be, and they are available for anyone.

I can’t really keep much of a distance from him we live in a little flat but he hasn’t actually been out at all since he met with them (we are not big social people ha)

The four people that have it so far seem to be the ones that spent lots of time in the pub whereas dh just came home (again not social people !) so we are hoping that he skipped the Covid part of the day 😁

Could he isolate in a spare room for a couple of weeks?

Makinganewthinghappen · 01/07/2021 09:03

Pickingdaises he has done one this morning - negative .

I’m not sure how reliable they are one of the people at work was doing them and got negatives but is quite unwell so got a proper test which was positive!

Bless him he did all he could, I think if you are told to self isolate it's for 10 days, so you should be able to relax in 3 days time. But it sounds like he's squeaked through. And if it was from the pub, and he didn't go, that could be why he hasn't been contacted. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. (I don't think the LF test is very reliable either - but it's already 7 days passed so don't panic)

Was he in close contact with them 48 hours before their symptoms begun.

If yes he needs to isolate.

If there has been no contact in the previous 48 hours then he won't need to isolate.

10 days from last contact with a positive case minimum. 14 to be on the safe side I’d think.
