As there’s looking to be an above average flu outbreak this year should fly close contacts self isolate?

Obviously this is a ridiculous idea, but what is the difference between doing this and what we’re currently doing with coronavirus?

Is flu as contagious? Genuine question, I don’t know.

I do know that flu and covid are not the same. Flu, for example, is much higher risk for young children whereas covid is not.

@TheVampiresWife well social change would include enployer attitude changing and changes to the way sick pay is paid.

I quite agree. The lowest paid workers have suffered the most over the past year and a half, as is always the case.

My point is that until that change happens, I hope that those who have no choice but to come into work with a cold aren't vilified for doing so, the way that for example mask exempt people have been. They've got enough to worry about without members of the public having a go at them for working while ill when they have no choice but to do so.

I imagine the flu vaccination effort will ramp up early and more might take it up this year.
