different vaccines

On medical guidance I had two different vaccines. I have been assured my immunity should be as high as anyone who had two doses on the same vaccine. I believe trial results were due in June. Does anyone know any more? Many thanks.

I was accidentally given the wrong second one yesterday so I had one astrazeneca and one pfizer. Three people read the card and still did it wrong! I was really really worried it wouldn't work but a nurse friend reassured me that it's fine and some countries do it as standard. There's a few studies out there, a Spanish one and a Canadian one that all say it's actually better and we'll be super immune.

Thanks so much. I have great faith in the vaccines but had yet to " meet" someone in similar position.

Did they not TELL you which one they were giving you yesterday? I had about three different people on the day tell me which one I was having.

No they didn't. I asked before I went which ones were available as it was a vaccine drive advertising both and they said AZ and pfizer were both available second and first doses. I asked if I could come for second dose of AZ and they said yes. Three people saw the card when i got there and oked it and asked me if second dose and the doctor read the card before he injected me, he still had his hand on the card when he injected me so I didn't think to check again. Its only when my partner who was being injected at the same time mentioned it that they stopped doing him and looked over to me but it was too late to stop the doctor as the needle was already coming out. I should have asked but in my head I'd already asked before I went and several people had seen the card, I'd given my details etc so didn't think to check as I was nervous about getting it done.

Thanks marmite on the keyboard. I'm the same. I'm really worried, was so looking forward to the relief of being double jabbed but I just feel really stressed out by it and feel stupid for not asking. The studies are reassuring though that it's going to be OK and at least in your situation they must have had good reason to choose it for you.

QuentininQuarantino · 28/06/2021 10:33

I’ve got one of each and originally was a little nervous as it wasn’t my choice but am now quite pleased as the chatter seems too be positive and Pfizer seems to perform well against the current variant, no doubt there’ll be further variants that AZ is better for, so I feel like I have belt and braces!

Thats great quentininquarantino! The studies are reassuring and Angela Merkel has had two different ones so you'd think she wouldn't risk it if it wasn't safe from a PR perspective too .
