Walk in vaccination centres - will my vaccination status still be recorded on the NHS Covid Pass system?

Just that really, hoping somebody might know. Does anyone work / volunteer at / has been vaccinated at one of the free-for-all walk in centres? I have an appointment booked through the NHS booking system which I can no longer attend, but no availability to rebook through it within the next three weeks so am thinking of going to one of the walk in days (at Charlton Athletic Football Stadium) where they vaccinate all comers, no ID or NHS number required and no questions asked. But if I do this, will they have the mechanisms to ensure my vaccine is recorded on the Covid Pass system, considering I haven’t gone through official channels? I don’t want to end up being unable to e.g. travel because I can’t prove I’ve been vaccinated.

Yes of course. It's not no questions asked literally, they still take your name and DOB etc and record the jab. Even at a booked appointment you don't need ID or your NHS number.

I had my 2nd at a walk in centre. They did ask you to bring your NHS number with you, but they helped you find it out if you didn't have it. Both my jabs are visible correctly on the NHS app thing.

Not sure if that's exactly the same as your situation though.

I went to a walk in at science museum at the weekend. They did ask for NHS number, which I had but they said wasn't a problem if not. They can locate you on system by name and date of birth etc. The NHS app updated the next day with my 2nd vaccine record.

Ah, perfect, thanks so much! I know part of the purpose of the centres is to make sure that people without legal immigration status get their vaccine without having to give any other information, so wasn’t sure if the registration and recording process was different. Glad it’s all recorded, will pop along on Saturday Smile

I went to a walk in a couple of weeks ago. They did not ask for ID but did take my name and date of birth. Then they asked everyone to text their name and date of birth to a mobile number that was on display in big letters at the front of the room. My second jab appeared on the NHS app a few days later.

I worked at the Olympic Stadium last weekend (completely knackered)..and yes.. everyone goes into the national register...even people without NHS number now as they're doing the homeless etc.

Do they have a minimum waiting time between doses? The Isle of Man are insisting all visitors have both doses at least 2 weeks before travelling, but that means for my holiday to take place I'll need my 2nd jab 5 weeks after my first.

beguilingeyes · 23/06/2021 18:00

It's eight weeks minimum... but I think if you need it earlier you may be able to have it after consultation with a doctor.

I needed my NHS number at both booked appointments but only because they couldn’t find me on the system! Maybe I have a very common name but not even adding the address helped. It was only when they put the NHS number in that they found me (although I was on the printed list the receptionist had). This was at a centre run by a pharmacy, not a mass vacc centre.

Can anyone tell me, if you are a student studying in Wales registered with a GP in Wales but live in England out of term time, can you get 2 nd vaccination at a walk in centre in England if the first was in Wales as you cannot book on national booking system.

beguilingeyes · 23/06/2021 22:58

@Skippetyskip I would think so. As long as you've got your NHS number. They seem to be desperate to get everyone vaccinated as soon as possible.

Dahliafairy · 24/06/2021 13:23

@Skippetyskip - yes, I’m sure you can - my son is a student in Scotland but at home in England. He went to a walk in for his first jab as couldn’t book on the English system.

I know some people who had had the Pfizer vaccine 28 days or so after the first one... including myself.

Although I think this is more common at walk-in centres. You don't really get the option online.
