AZ in the US = unvaccinated

I was dreading this happening, as I had AZ which appears to be overall lower efficacy. News reports in the US, and with New York opening up, certain events will be restricted to those double vaccinated with US approved vaccines (Moderna, Pfizer or J&J). For example the upcoming Bruce Springsteen gigs. Having had AZ doesn’t count as “vaccinated” as it’s not approved over there.

I am worried this trend will grow to a more global level, and being vaccinated won’t be good enough to resume life, you’ll need to have had a certain vaccine otherwise you’re counted as unvaccinated. I felt so lucky, and now I feel so frustrated on behalf of AZ as I think the Oxford team did a great job.

One venue made a thoughtless mistake and they've since changed the vaccination requirement to include any FDA or WHO approved vaccine. So if you were in NY you could see Springsteen if you wanted to.

As @MRex says the requirement is no longer for an FDA only approved vaccine, it's been changed to FDA or WHO.

Now if only I could get there to see Springsteen on Broadway...

Yes, it’s outdated news OP. They have not used AZ over there so it wasn’t listed initially. It’s a shame old stories aren’t purged when proven untrue.

Also, efficacy against hospitalisation after two shots is 92% for AZ and 96% for Pfizer, so not much in it in terms of making you very ill.

No need to be worried on either count. You SHALL go to the ball!
