Please come and tell me! I need some positivity.
Me and DH both have long covid - 8 months ago. DH still unable to work. I limp through 3 days. Although am better than early days my recovery seems to have plateaued and I would love some positive recovery stories please 🙏🏻

Yes it's taken 14 months but I'm almost better. Feel absolutely fine just my chest doesn't like running. Hoping this will also go in time. It was a very slow process with lots of ups and downs. Good luck and hang in there.

I’m not fully recovered but I’m massively better and not far off normal now. I still get breathless if I walk up hills and I still need to have a quiet day if I have a few busy ones in a row. But compared to where I was at 8 months, things are great. I had Covid last March so 15 months post Covid now.

Oh thank you Flowers I need to hear this.

I miss so much striding out over the local hills. Or any form of exercise! Am putting weight on due to inactivity and I hate it.

Anyone else back to normal or near-normal?

Yes. Took several months and seemed boosted by my first Pfizer jab. Feel completely recovered now. Had covid in January of this year.

Maze76 · 19/06/2021 09:23

I had Covid in January, still have day where I feel exhausted, but I’m doing much better than I was a couple of months ago.

I'm nearly 8 months in and I've just started back at work 2 days a week...its absolutely wiped me out! Its good to hear of people further down the line back to almost full health

SophiesMummySaid · 19/06/2021 17:57

It is good to hear isn’t it? Feels a bit hopeless and never ending for us right now

Unfortunately the powers that be are desperately trying to crush the information coming to light across the world regarding the drug, ivermectin, but maybe worth a shot to try and get hold of some from your GP (although I think most have been threatened not to give it out). It has shown in peer reviewed studies that it pretty much cures all covid, mild and more serious - especially if given at the early stages of illness. However, I’m sure I recently read that they’ve also found extremely good results for long covid sufferers. Sometimes completely lifting all lagging symptoms.
I am sure someone will be along shortly to call me an anti vax conspiracy theorist but just in case it helps, I’d think it’d be worth a shot as it is a very established drug with one of the top safety records.

Yes. It took 10 months.
I had the luxury of someone taking care of me, and was able to ditch work.

So 15 months on from my original infection and 6 months on from my second I am 95% better. Still get a bit of "burning" and some pins and needles, still get the occasional relapse when I'm fatigued for a day or two but no comparison to last year.

This is great to hear - to you all - thank you for sharing, and I’m sorry you’ve been through this nightmare too.
