Should they be self isolating?

Can't help but feel a bit annoyed with my friend.
She is a hockey coach and some of the players tests came back as positive. She did one and it was negative. Said this meant she did not have to isolate.

Yesterday, her youngest daughter woke up with a fever. She tried to get her to school and of course the teacher said she had to go home and do a test. She did and it came back negative. Yet yesterday, her other daughter, her partner and herself were still socialising and going about their daily business. Am I missing something here?

Assuming she did a LFT for daughter? Isn't it meant to be PCR if you're symptomatic?

You're right op, she should be isolating as a close contact, her daughter needs a PCR and the rest of the famy should isolate until daughter is negative

Yes you are.

Obviously she hasn't been close enough to the players for a long enough time to be pinged by Test and Protect as a contact.

You only have to quarantine yourself if they tell you to. Assuming she's not been told to quarantine and is ignoring that requirement (unlikely) then she's doing nothing wrong.

Suggest keeping your beak out?

They come into contact with vulnerable people as a family so no, I will not keep my beak out.
My issue is that they let the other daughter go to school and were out and about themselves before they knew the test was negative.

You posted about her recently didn't you? She's no real friend so just draw back. She has questionable judgement and ethics in terms of her position as a coach, you could consider reporting to the hockey clubs governing body if you feel strongly enough.
