Testing a 3 year old

DD is 3 and started with hay fever this week. She’s had sore eyes and sneezing and generally felt grotty. This afternoon she started with a cough and now has a temperature of 39.
I’ve booked a covid test for tomorrow morning but thought I’d do a lateral flow. Well, she’s clearly traumatised still after having to have a test in December, she vomited and wet herself and there was no way that the test could have been positive even if she did have covid because I just couldn’t get the swab in her.
I’m now dreading taking her tomorrow. What would you do? I’m supposed to be at work tomorrow :(

I wouldn't force her, I'd put pressure on work to be lenient

I work for the NHS and there’s absolutely no pressure to go in if someone has symptoms. But this will be the 4th time I’ll have had time off for a poorly child. If I can’t get her to do a reliable test then we will just have to isolate for 10 days, won’t we?
