Hi all
I need to travel, not for leisure
Has anyone been able to move the vax forward? I don't mean forward to 8 weeks, but 3-4 weeks after the first?
Thank you

Has anyone been able to make an appointment via the nhs booking system any sooner than 8 weeks between jabs? I know if people have been vaccinated via the GP they may be lucky and be offered it sooner, or going to a walk in centre... but I wanted to know if anyone has been able to book via nhs booking system or is it set at 8 week minimum?

I had my second jab today at a walk in centre (large northern city) 22 days after my first!
I rang beforehand to check and they said that they are asking for 8 weeks between in order to encourage as many first vaccinations as possible. But absolutely no clinical reason why I couldn't have it. So I did 😀. In fact, my pharmacist SIL told me that 21 days in the recommended gap from the supplier. I had Pfizer.
I am 44 but first jab was delayed because I had Covid and needed to wait.

When I tried to book online last week, it was definitely set for 8 weeks. Couldn't get any earlier.

Our local big vaccination centre has had a walk in Astra Zenaca clinic the past few weekends. They were taking anyone for 2nd doses AZ that had 4 weeks since 1st dose. No appointment required. Just rock up with your NHS number and the date you had your 1st jab.

@JaneyHenderson that's interesting to know! All of the walk ins I can see mention 8 week minimum between doses, but perhaps I can just give one a try!

I was surprised too to be honest! It came about because I saw a few shared FB posts yesterday about walk ins being quiet to encourage people to go. The FB group was called NHS (name of city) Clinical Commissioning Group.

@Cloud279 Might be worth a search locally?

I had my second after a 6 week gap today

Yolanda524 · 20/06/2021 21:51

I’m a vaccinator. We are now taking booking with 4 weeks between jabs

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 20/06/2021 21:53

I’m late 30s and the most I could squeeze it forward was a week.

omegabetaxx · 20/06/2021 22:19

Hope they do same mass vaccinations next week. I’m want to travel ( not for leisure) and want my second dose as quickly as I can. I can only bring mine to 8 weeks. Wish Jcvi reduces the gap further.

Some areas are mentioning ‘only for residents will they allow people from other borough…???
