Covid in child's year group

If a child is sent home as another child in their year group has covid but has been tested themselves (LFT) and is negative should they isolate? If they were your step child would you be happy with them still coming?

Both adults in the household have had a first vaccination so should have some immunity.

Yes they should isolate at the home they are in at the time of the isolation instruction. Contact should be via virtual means. In reality I think I probably would be happy to have them but I'd probably do daily lfts for everyone if possible. How old is the child?

A negative test (whether LFT or PCR) does not mean you stop isolation. Unless you are part of the trial with daily testing.

You will be part of a bubble with your SC and so I think the child can isolate at either house.

My son was told to self isolate due to exposure to a covid positive student in his class who sat in front of him. Tested negative several times and advised he could resume school. Luckily the day before we just happened to do a test which was positive, confirmed by pcr.
I'd let him stay where he is tbh. This is the dilemma we've had, moving between different households and potentially spreading it.

Child is 14.

You will be part of a bubble with your SC and so I think the child can isolate at either house.

She is at mum's now but due to come here on Friday.
DH is keen for her to come and I can't see the harm if she continues to test negative but I just have a niggle that there's a chance that we could be spreading it.

I have spoken to her and she doesn't know who it is but it definitely isn't any of her friends that she sits with or has lunch with so I think the risk is fairly low.
