What are dd’s chances of testing positive?

I’m worrying.

Dd2 had symptoms on 1st June, tested positive on 3rd June. She was already isolating due her friends positive test result. Rest of the family all have negative PCR tests last weekend and no symptoms.

Dd3 now has to do a lateral flow test for school. It’s very unlikely to be positive now right? Dd2 can’t take any more isolating after doing it for 2 weeks!

I didn't think it was advisable to test for 90 days after having Covid as you have antibodies and also likely to get positives

DD2 shouldn’t do lateral flow tests as she may still get a positive result, but not infectious anymore after 10 days and even if someone else in family tests positive she can come out of isolation as she’s had it. DD3 has also done her 10 days isolation, but it’s the right thing for her to do a lateral flow test before going back to school, just in case.

dd2 wouldn't have to continue isolating even if dd3 did test positive.

When ds3 tested positive ds2 had to do a LFT after we all finished isolating and didn't test positive. It's probably unlikely after the negative pcr but you never know!

Yeah your not supposed to test 90 days after testing positive.
Glad that it’s negative though .

DD2 would have to isolate if DD3 gets a positive result more than 10 days after DD2's infection, as soon as the isolation period ends it's back to normal rules. I personally think the timeframe should be longer, but just clarifying as you had some incorrect information above.

DD2 should not do any LFTs nor PCRs for 90 days from her original infection, i.e. none before late August. That's because she is more likely to get a positive result based on her old infection but she does not need to isolate. If school or anyone else ask her to test, she should refuse on the 90 day basis and you need to make sure she knows that.

Thank you all, very helpful. Dd3 does have to continue with twice weekly LFTs which is a school requirement. Dd2 wasn't planning on testing anyway as she has just left school.
