How can we open up whilst the requirement to self isolate exists

Not a debate on the right time to come out of a lockdown more just an understanding of how it can be done with the testing and isolation requirements as they are?

A year group at school has just fallen, thankfully not mine. It could cause untold disruption to schools, workplaces like hospitals, councils and police forces if social distancing, masks and home working is dropped.

Surely this is a big problem even if, as we all hope, hospitalisations stay low?

Or was the plan that testing and/or isolation would end on June 21st too?
@fortyfifty yes I don't understand the need for contact details when you're outside and 2 metres or more apart from people.

I was asked to log my details when using toilets inside the other day, despite eating outside at distanced tables. I put in fake details because I was desperate for a wee, but if I'm likely to catch coronavirus from a one minute toilet visit where I'm not in contact with anyone else, then the risk is much higher than we've been told.
We've known for a few months that it's airborne. You don't need to be "close" to people to catch it. You can catch it when you go into a confined space that someone else with covid has recently been in.

@Kazzyhoward but the basis on which reopening has implicitly been sold is that to be identified as needing to self isolate you'd need to be in reasonable proximity to an infected person for more than say 10 minutes of time.

If people can be required to self isolate for less than that i.e. using the toilet for 2 minutes but actually eating outdoors, when someone inside is subsequently identified as being positive, then it is a massive disincentive to going anywhere at all, even if you're eating or drinking outside.

Or to have the app on your phone......I know I've deleted it along with many others. It achieves nothing but chaos.
