But I feel really anxious- don’t have anyone to talk to about this in real life
I suffer from anxiety so have been working very hard to beat it. Went into work today for the morning half- we wear masks and sit in a distanced manner but there are few who kept coming too close for chats.
Got back home and feel very anxious that I might have been exposed to Covid.
Picked daughter from school for her to have a blocked nose and sneeze
Now I feel even more anxious that she has caught Covid
I know it’s silly but with the cases rising and this variant being more contagious feel very scared
I haven’t had the vaccine yet - it was because of a medical procedure but now been given the go ahead so will be booking a slot
I’ve just turned 40 with no underlying conditions that I know

Have you got any LFT, would it help if you and your daughter start regularly testing? The guidance is to take them twice a week.

It may help reassure you now that you are back in work and your daughter is at school.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2021 18:55

Work in a school so feel really at risk and have so for months. I'm in my early 50's but fortunately have had the vaccine.
Lots of people not really distancing much at work etc.
Just try and put your worries into context. You weren't in long and you took precautions. If your not happy at work, speak to your boss.
Get vaccinated ASAP.
Use lateral flow tests twice weekly.
If your dd has symptoms test her for peace of mind.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2021 18:58

Not much more you can do. I'm sure you will be fine esp as your age is not a risk category being 40.
If your dd catches it, she will be most likely asymptomatic. She or you are v unlikely to be really ill with it.

Namechangednotatroll · 09/06/2021 19:02

Ordered LFT expecting tomorrow
I know nothing much I can do but feel very anxious

Get a LFT to put mind at rest. Not as easy to catch as you think and the other people do gave to have covid to actually pass it on

Namechangednotatroll · 09/06/2021 19:04

@June2021 isn’t this variant quite easy to pass on?

Daughter class doesn’t have a positive case yet

You said you sit in a distanced manner.
You said you all wear masks.
You said a few brief chats.
You said you were being silly.
Does anyone you have chatted to in work have covid?
Get a LFT if you are worried, then wait 30 mins

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2021 20:28

Are you taking vitamin d? I take it just in case I catch it. Some research to say it helps. ( It helps me mentally to think I'm being pro active?)

Namechangednotatroll · 09/06/2021 20:35

I take seven seas multi vitamin which had vit d amongst other vitamins..

ManyMaybes · 09/06/2021 22:25

You will be absolutely fine and in a few months
I suspect much more relaxed about situations such as these, once we have. Ore evidence of the vaccines being effective :)

But you’re not in a risk group anyway, so the overwhelming likelihood is you would be fine regardless of the vaccine.

Namechangednotatroll · 09/06/2021 22:41

Fingers crossed- do feel quite worried

Looking to change my grocery order to a bit earlier incase both daughter myself come down with it.

She’s pretty clogged in her nose but no temp or cough- yet

How old is she? Any history of hayfever?

Mindymomo · 10/06/2021 07:05

You can get LFT tests at most chemists for free now. There is high pollen from grass at the moment so hayfever is high, myself and my son are sneezing a lot on walks at the moment.

AppleJane · 10/06/2021 08:03

Pollen count seems high at moment. We were like this during the first lockdown with hayfever. Humidifiers and air filters help us.

Poorlykitten · 10/06/2021 08:10

I didn’t think sneezing was a symptom? 🧐

MisgenderedSwan · 10/06/2021 08:21

In my experience loads of children have colds and negative Covid test atm. Probably just due to been in contact with more people again. Try and relax, do the twice weekly lfts and take sensible precautions, masks wearing, social distancing, open windows etc.

Namechangednotatroll · 10/06/2021 11:26

@DdraigGoch she is 7- no history of hay fever but realise she could have it at any age

@Poorlykitten the symptoms were different for children than the adults last time around. This time the adolescent seem to be facing sore throat headaches and stuffy nose as suppose to the government recognised symptoms- those symptoms seem out dated tbh.

If you listen to the podcast on the ZOE app they discuss this

@MisgenderedSwan yes windows open and hoovered the house at 6 am- need to mop the place after work and wipe all for handles etc

The LFT should be here today

I’m worried but trying to stay rational- also worried that I might have brought something home from work..

OP posts:
Poorlykitten · 10/06/2021 22:17

@Namechangednotatroll sore throats, headaches and stuffy nose are not sneezing. Sneezing is not listed as a symptom anywhere I’ve seen. It’s much more likely to be a common cold or allergy rather than C19. You might need to seek help for your health anxiety.

Namechangednotatroll · 10/06/2021 22:24

@Poorlykitten if you read my posts I’ve updated to say that she has a blocked nose..

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 10/06/2021 23:04

Just heard that actually the symptoms are slightly different with the delta variant.
They are cold, runny nose, fever, headache. No loss of taste or sense of smell. Its not widely reported yet but watched it on Dr John Campbell on you tube. That is for adults.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/06/2021 23:04

Oh and sorry a sore throat and cough.

Nannyamc · 10/06/2021 23:10

Due to fine weather hay fever is at an
All time high. Blocked nose is a sure sign of it. Got antihistamines this week and it is clear now. Told to take them all summer
Never had it before
