How many cases to be called a cluster? And how do we find out about hospital admissions?

In our county, we have 6 clusters reported. One cluster is reportedly in my town where I live. What makes a cluster? Does it mean a few cases in one specific area? Ie: school, care home etc?

Also, If I want to know about covid cases in certain hospitals, can I find that out?

I don't know what constitutes a cluster, sorry.

For hospital and regional numbers, try local authority/county websites or the hospital trusts and see if they've published anything. Check local government social media too as they sometimes have links to data.

Here's the figures for London in case you or anybody else is interested.

Googled and found this official document

www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-epidemiological-definitions-of-outbreaks-and-clusters/covid-19-epidemiological-definitions-of-outbreaks-and-clusters-in-particular-settings

Basically 2 or more cases in a particular setting is called a cluster before a specific potential link is discovered (eg direct contact between at least two of the positive people). Then it becomes an outbreak.

My county council publishes data including the number of hospital beds occupied in the county by Covid patients. However, they only publish weekly with a few days lag, so it is always slightly out of date.
