I went to asda on Tuesday and it's the first time in a long time I have used public toilets. At the back of the toilet it says lid down before Flushing. Is this a new thing is it covid related.

Any advice

Sal

It's to stop splashing and possible aerosols being produced

MrDarcysMa · 26/05/2021 22:39

That's just normal hygiene afaik

RedMarauder · 26/05/2021 22:42

You should have been doing it anyway long before Covid.

Sadless · 26/05/2021 22:53

I thought its usual to put lid down but they have never had signs up before and a lot mustn't be for them to put signs up.

I noticed this in our Asda too but there was no lid Hmm

XenoBitch · 26/05/2021 22:57

Is normal hygiene practice, surely? Saying that, I can't remember many public loos even having lids.

RedRiverShore · 27/05/2021 06:59

It is covid related to stop the aerosols, it's on the Caravan Club toilets also, it's normal practice for most women but I would think notices would needed in the men's toilets going by DH who never closes the lid.
