Novavax use UK

Just wondering if anyone here is in the know. Someone close to me is extremely vaccine hesitant (not to be confused with anti vaccine) with regards to the 3 vaccines being currently used in UK. As part of their promise to me to have an open mind and continue exploring their worries and looking for reassurance they have read a lot about Novavax and feel very positive about that one. I don't know the ins and outs of their reasoning and I am also aware that it's not a pick and choose situation in terms of what ones you get.

I'm aware that UK has ordered 60m doses of this vaccine and it's likely to be approved in Q3. I have read it's likely to be part of the booster programme. I was wondering if anyone knew whether it would also be used in UK as part of standard vaccine roll out alongside the other big 3. I'm assuming that they will continue to try and offer vaccines to those that haven't taken it up in the initial roll out for at least the rest of the year.

The current estimate seems to be for all adults to be offered a 1st dose by the end of June, which would put the Q3 approval of Novavax after that date.

I don't think we've heard anything official about what the plan is after that, especially for anyone who hasn't taken up the offer of a vaccination by July and whether there may be more choice to get the most vaccine-hesitant jabbed before autumn.

Thanks for replying. I was thinking they will likely continue to offer first jabs given that pregnant women for example who are hesitant will choose to wait until after baby is here to have their jabs. So people having babies over summer will take up vaccine offer at autumn. I'm hoping they won't say you didn't want one before, it's not available now. Hopefully the mop up drive will continue. The longer the vaccine in use the more confidence will grow and people will reconsider not having it. Thjnk some hesitant people will be less reluctant to have it as autumn and winter bring rises in cases too.
