Growing confidence vaccines work against Indian variant and some 34-35 year olds being contacted to come forward and receive vaccination

Excellent news this morning that there is growing confidence that the vaccines we have will work against the Indian variant which is looking less transmissible than first feared. More than a million people aged 34 and 35 will also be receiving a text in the coming days asking them to come forward for their jab. This has all really cheered me up a little this morning. Smile

I’m 34 and got invited last week, had my first dose of Pfizer yesterday, so it really is happening.

I'm 34 and had a text a few days ago Smile

They seem to be racing through the age groups now. Is it because a lot in each group will have already been vaccinated for a different reason? I'd say more than half of my friends the same age have had it due to being a healthcare worker/carer/underlying condition etc etc.

Dont worry, I'm sure that one poster who revels in a bit of doom will be along soon to attempt to piss on your chips Grin

I've never felt concerned by the indian scariant, or any of the others. Every virus has variants, covid has had several thousand already.

I am really hoping that this is indeed the case, and that the vaccine is the equivalent of the "one ring to rule them all, one ring to bind them":) It would be great to not constantly have to worry about variants and try to keep them out.
