How accurate is the React Antibody test?

Just completed mine and it's negative. I'm wondering how reliable this test is and what sort of results other posters had?
I'm currently 13 days away from my second dose of AZ.

Mine was negative too, 5 days post second vaccine.

I did one of these tests last week, first vaccine was begining of March, not had second yet, I tested positive for antibodies.

I had Covid mildly at New Year and one dose of AZ in March, next dose is due next week

I tested positive for the IgG antibodies but not the IgM which is to be expected, as M antibodies indicate recent infection, IgG ones are the more long lasting ones

shitstirrer · 18/05/2021 15:33

and to add DH was the same, he also had Covid when I did and one dose of AZ around mid - March. He was also positive for IgG antibodies

CornishYarg · 18/05/2021 16:15

I completed mine 3 and a half weeks after my 2nd AZ dose and tested positive for IgG antibodies.

Umm wondering whether we have a family issue & the antibodies are not lasting. Sister - hospital doc.who has had it twice so far, is showing symptoms again after a weekend on call. She's fully vaccinated.

I wonder if it'll be possible for you to have one of the booster doses but using a different vaccine mechanism like pfeizer or moderna?

AZ only has a 65% ish positive rate of preventing infection and symptoms so you won't be the only ones in this situation. But I do think they need to do something to see if they can eliminate the risk involved by this.

MsInsomniac · 18/05/2021 17:23

Should I speak to my gp about my lack of antibodies?

I don't know about the REACT test, but I have recently done a similar test for Biobank, who make clear on their website that two thirds of vaccinated people will test negative for antibodies and that it doesn't mean they don't have immunity. My first post (!) so not sure how to post a link, but maybe have a look at the Biobank site and also Dr Bharat Pankhania on Twitter - he was asked this the other day and was reassuring. On his Twitter feed there's also a link to a phone in he did with local radio in Bristol, where this topic came up.

Thank you @user1471460097 that's really helpful.I will follow that up.
@weird I wonder whether the booster shots planned in September will be tailored to either the vaccine I've previously received or to my current antibody profile. Probably not I suspect.
