WWYD - offered vaccine at 8 weeks pregnant

At 34 I feel extremely lucky to have been offered the vaccine so soon - however, I am 8 weeks pregnant, and we have absolutely no idea what any long term effects of this vaccine may have.

I have spoken to a GP and he has essentially told me that it is totally my choice and that so far it doesn't look like it has any adverse effects on pregnant women.

I take my social responsibility to have feb vaccine seriously - but am also feeling extremely anxious about this.

WWYD?

Read up on the information available because the data improves all the time as more women who got pregnant on trials have their babies: www.rcog.org.uk/en/guidelines-research-services/coronavirus-covid-19-pregnancy-and-womens-health/covid-19-vaccines-and-pregnancy/covid-19-vaccines-pregnancy-and-breastfeeding/.

I think second trimester is generally considered safest because a fever in first or third trimester could be more problematic, and any vaccine risks a fever. I'd personally at least wait until 14 weeks. At that point you'll want to consider how bad the covid infection rates in your area are and how easy it is to shield later in pregnancy; if everything's going swimmingly with low cases in the UK then you might feel more comfortable waiting, if there are huge outbreaks then getting protected by the vaccine is more important. Good luck whatever you decide and enjoy your pregnancy. It's such a lovely (-terrifying-) time. Just 2 months until you feel those lovely wiggles!

Thankyou @MRex I'm going to cancel and wait until I'm past 12 weeks
