Had both vax, app says I've only had one

Just that really. I'm bloody horrified.

I had the first one mid jan as was on placement at a hospital. When I had the second one the nurse came to find me to tell me the record of my first wasn't there and that she'd put it in. Thought I'd just check the app in case I fancied going anywhere and yep, only one listed.

I'm nit having another one, I'm still ill from the second one in March.

Anyone any idea who the fuck i contact?

Just downloaded app.
7 days it says.

Had both vax, app says I've only had one

That's weird, mine was instant!

Thanks @endofthelinefinally

This is quite outing but it was at Kings. (Hospital)

The woman I spoke to in OH asked me which building I'd had my vaccines in. I told her and she said they'd never done them in either of those buildings. But they did. We got into a bit of a stale mate where she was saying well you can't have had them there and I was saying well I did. She was very keen to get me off the phone. Kept saying there's no record of me. Which is possible as I wasn't staff.

The person who told me to have the vax was my supervisor. She said she'd spoken to someone at the vax hub on the phone and they were doing walk ins for staff, told me the building number (was a portacabin) and off I went.

I have the batch number on my card.

I mean it was right at the beginning, it was like going into a community hall somewhere. Rubbish all over the floor and everything very makeshift. Even though it was at a huge national teaching hospital.

I realise it's a massive deal in terms of all sorts. Which is why they will be hurrying to find out what went wrong. Hopefully.

@endofthelinefinally

"The storage of the vaccines, the informed consent, the screening questions, the administration of the injection, the checking of the NHS number and recording of the batch number and dose in the individual's NHS record are all mandatory. So if these things were not done, somebody should be facing an inquiry."

So out of that list the only thing not done was the recording of the batch number and dose in my nhs record. If you think that deserves pursuing I will do so.

I think I would make an appointment with the GP. I would take a written note of everything that has happened and all the people you have spoken to and tell them that you require their help to sort this out and track down what has happened.

Include on your note the batch details from your vaccine card if both doses.

I would also send an email (so it is in writing) to the place you were jabbed. I would send all the same details as to GP. I would say that despite multiple calls, no progress is being made and no-one seems able or willing to help or to know what to do in this situation. Ask if they can assist you or if you need to open a complaint.

littleducks · 18/05/2021 19:37

Took be honest I'm not that surprised. I also had jab arranged as HCP walk in at different hospital to one i work in, back in Jan. It was paper lists, paper consent forms and the card as proof. They didn't know app would be way forward at that point.

Knowing nhs computer systems glitches in carrying data over did not surprise me one bit.

endofthelinefinally · 18/05/2021 19:56

It has to be recorded in your NHS record. Did you supply your NHS number, or at least your name, dob, address, GP details at the time? Any vaccine hub has computer systems so that the information can be entered. The only explanation is a data entry error. In which case you might not be the only one.

unambiguousbeard · 18/05/2021 20:05

@endofthelinefinally well I thought she'd entered it. But clearly she hadn't entered it correctly as there's no record of it.

Actually when I had my second one (in a different building but apparently not the one they vaccinate in) the nurse came to find me afterwards and asked to borrow my card to write something in the computer as she said there was some problem with the batch number of my first vaccine. "Nothing to worry about" and I wasn't the only one... so there was clearly something amiss

@unambiguousbeard I'm just curious what ongoing symptoms you have had?

littleducks · 18/05/2021 20:10

Could be as simple as nurse added manually to record when this was spotted but this entry wasn't standard field so not captured for data collection for record.

Can you email OH with photo of your card? Might hold more weight than phone call

unambiguousbeard · 18/05/2021 20:20

OH literally couldn't get rid of me quick enough. Implied I was lying about where I had the vaccines. I mean I'm not employed by nhs so I don't come under OHs remit.

@Dunkindonuts8
I started another thread about the random symptoms. 3weeks after the second vax I started with pins and needles in my hands, joint pain in shoulders, elbows, hands, low grade fever, fatigue, depression, night sweats, body aches. Now add in earache and throbbing pain in neck and weirdly armpits. Yes I know there are lymph nodes there, no they're not swollen. Yes I am on the max dose of hrt, no it's not menopause. Blood tests came back moreorless clear. Sometimes I think it's the vax. Sometimes I think I'm being ridiculous it's just a random something or other. I don't much care which it is anymore I wish it would fuck off.

My colleague had long covid, then ended up very ill in hospital after the first dose of AZ. Still very unwell. Your symptoms should be reported and investigated OP.

unambiguousbeard · 18/05/2021 20:56

One thing at a time @endofthelinefinally 😅

I would love my symptoms to be investigated. And would report them if I definitely thought they were vaccine related. But I don't know that they are (although I don't see what else they could be) and I'm still waiting for a follow up gp appointment.

Point taken. Grin

Oblomov21 · 19/05/2021 14:14

How are you getting on OP?
A strongly worded but polite email to your Gp would be my idea. Plus a photo of your card. How can they deny it?

Because of you my app is now working. Thank you. I'm 'fit to travel'. Apparently. Not that I'm going anywhere unfortunately, but if I was, I'd be fit to travel!

Backofbeyond50 · 19/05/2021 14:30

Hope you get sorted OP. I have the opposite problem. My first dose has been counted twice. Can see this leading to issues.
