I had my second vaccine 3 weeks ago. For the past 10 days I've had a headache that will just not go away. It eases with tablets but doesn't go and as soon as the tablets wear off it's back. Today I read a thing that said if a headache between 4 days and 4 weeks of having jab that doesn't go away youbshould phone 111. But if something bad was going to happen it would have by now wouldn't it? Just want the headache to go away.

Just get it checked OP - no one on here can tell you

I'm just worried to phone 111 and have to go to hospital. I have work and childcare and it stresses me so much

It might be a case of popping to A and E, they can check it, and then it's the end of your stress. Just speak to 111. Good luck Flowers

You need to seek medical advice and then you can be properly screened. Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about but it should be checked out. Do you have any other symptoms such as breathlessness, chest pain, stomach pain, unusual bruising / pinprick rash?

Rainbowsandstorms · 17/05/2021 22:36

You may find that you call them and they are able to reassure you but if not and it’s an A and E referral that means that it’s important you’re checked out so either way it’s a good thing. I hope all is ok.

My mum (74) had a headache for nearly 2 months after 2nd Pfizer. It has just started to ease thankfully.

I had a headache I couldn't shift after my second jab. The news about potential blood clots wasn't out at that point. If it had been I would have contacted my GP. I had it on and off for 3 weeks. I could suppress it with paracetamol but not shift it. I'm fine now. So definitely don't panic but definitely ask to speak to your GP.

Thank you I'll phone them in my lunch break.

@delilabell

Thank you I'll phone them in my lunch break.
Did you call them? I’m interested to hear how you got on as I’ve had a headache for 2 days and I’m now 4 days passed vaccination.
delilabell · 18/05/2021 18:33

I feel so rough and tired. I'm going to try my hardest to phone tomorrow

Okay please let us know how you get on tomorrow. Hopefully if you feel rough it might be just a different virus that you have and you’ll sleep it off ❤️

I had a nasty headache after jab no 2 for the first ten days or so. I initially went to the walk in centre who checked me over but couldn't find anything concerning, but equally they said that the only way to rule out blood clots is via a blood test / CT scan, done in A&E. I went to A&E two days later where they did a blood test. The blood test came out ok so no scan was needed. The headache went away a few days later.
I was glad to get the reassurance. Hope this works out similar for you OP.

@Puffthemagicdragongoestobed, thanks for letting us know about your experience.

It’s reassuring to know that people are being taken seriously and not dismissed home with paracetamol.
