Proof of vaccination status on NHS app... but only if you live in England

Governmeet has announced that you can get proof of your vaccination status - a vaccine passport of sorts - via the NHS app digital.nhs.uk/services/nhs-app

However, I downloaded the NHS app and it turns out that to use it, you have to be registered with a GP in England Hmm

Is there some alternative service for us peasants heathens barbarians people who live in Wales / Scotland / NI or are we just being ignored on this front?

I live in Wales and a relative across the border in England is about to go into a care home, so I presume this issue is going to come up. I'm not sure the "I got vaccinated" sticker that I stuck to the back of my driving licence is going to cut it, somehow.

I'm in Scotland and didn't get a sticker. Got a leaflet instead

It’s always been possible to get a record of your vaccination status by asking your GP to confirm it on paper.

Before COVID it was relatively rare for people to request proof. But they did for overseas travel.

Since COVID it has become a reasonable assumption that many many people would be asking for proof of their vaccination status to travel. NHS England have basically provided that proof digitally on an ID verified app. That’s going to save their GPs a lot of time

NHS Scotland, Wales and NI need to decide how they will manage would could be an onerous workload for their GPs or health boards if people need a record to travel.
