Asymptomatic Covid

Just really curious if anyone has had this or known anyone who has? I feel naturally really sceptical about it and would like to challenge myself a bit to understand. Is it not more than the symptoms were unnoticed or ignored rather than 33% of covid cases being completely asymptomatic?

My friends dad was totally asymptomatic. When me, my DP and my DS had covid my other 2 children either didn't catch or were totally asymptomatic. I suspect alot of people have such mild symptoms they haven't realised they have it. I was so mildly unwell that in normal times I would have carried on as usual as I didn't feel poorly at all but I did have a very infrequent cough and bit of a runny nose

I think there are definitely asymptomatic cases out there but I've been thinking the same as you - how many were ignored symptoms or dishonest people? I mean, if you knew you'd gone to a choir practice, or whatever, feeling a bit rough but brushing it off and then everyone else there had caught covid, how many people would actually be honest that they'd had symptoms after all? I'm sure some would, but definitely some would not and they would come into the 'asymptomatic' numbers. You only have to read on here about people saying 'it's only a cold' about their symptoms to know there are enough people not taking it seriously to increase the numbers of people who test positive who don't report symptoms.
