How long after second vaccine do you get immunity?

Can’t find a thread on this. When can I expect some immunity after the second vaccine. I heard after first it can take 3 weeks to develop some immunity, but what about the second.

Based on results of vaccine trials - 1 week for Pfizer, 2 weeks for AZ and Moderna.

NHS advises on 2 weeks for all vaccines for simplicity.

Immunity is not all or nothing. It's a continuum.

You've already got some immunity starting at 12 days after the first vaccine. It then builds from there and levels out at between 3-4 weeks (earlier for younger people, later for older ones).

The second jab adds a bit more, starting about 1 week after the jab, levelling out after 2-3 weeks.

Except of course there is variability between people. Some people will develop a lower degree of immunity than others for various reasons, e.g. immune suppression, great age, or just sheer bloody bad luck.

The safest you can be (if you're thinking of visiting your granny) is when everyone is at least 3 weeks post second jab.
