COVID tests from school

My son is in secondary school and brings Rapid Antigen Self Tests home every week. He does not use them and I told him not to bring them home but he says teachers simply tell him to take one and it's ok if he doesn't use it.
I have a drawer full of them. What am I supposed to do with these tests?

Do them yourself? You are supposed to be testing yourself twice a week if you have a child in school.

TheFuckThatIGave · 11/05/2021 16:01

Chuck them in the bin if you're not going to just them, what else do you expect anyone to say?!

AlmostSummer21 · 11/05/2021 16:03

Return them to the school & tell them when FS says no, he means no.

Alternatively teach him about social responsibility 🤷🏻‍♀️

FeatheredHope · 11/05/2021 16:08

Why isn’t he using them?

Hellocatshome · 11/05/2021 16:12

Get your child to use them and teach them about social responsibility and doing things for the greater good.

BiggerBoat1 · 11/05/2021 16:14

Tell him to use them! I assume school tell him to bring them home because they think he'll have an adult at home responsible enough to get him to do the test.

Nikki305 · 11/05/2021 16:15

Can you persuade him to do the responsible thing and use them? Or use yourself

FireworksAndSparklers · 11/05/2021 16:17

Why isn't he using them? He should be!

Pinotwoman82 · 11/05/2021 16:18

Use them yourself?

Hangingtrousers · 11/05/2021 16:19

Make him use them - think of school staff safety.

PurpleDaisies · 11/05/2021 16:20

Why isn’t he doing them?

Verbena87 · 11/05/2021 16:20

Use them. I see over 300 kids in my 3 days a week teaching role, across 5 different bubbles. Face masks to be ditched imminently and cases popping up again/isolations increasing already. It helps me feel less anxious at work if we’re all testing (me and the kids)

PurpleDaisies · 11/05/2021 19:20

Don’t you just love it when an op starts a thread disappears without engaging with anyone?

MadeOfStarStuff · 11/05/2021 19:36

Be a responsible parent and get DS to take them Hmm

You are supposed to explain to him why it's a good idea to do them

If he really won't then given then to someone who will. Yourself for example. Yes it's a pain but it's for the greater good.

RedSoloCup · 11/05/2021 22:22

Mine do theirs they probably don't want to but it's not optional in this house!!
